Schadenfreude

I feel like I've been inundated with this term recently.....which is odd, because schadenfreude doesn't usually come up in regular conversation.....but a few weeks ago a group of us were have a conversation in the lounge - largely about the word, its meaning and its effect relating to a variety of law school rumors. Last week - it was used emphatically in one of James Spader's closing arguments on Boston Legal. And today - it's in the concluding paragraph of Paul Krugman's column (a good read BTW).

Right - so inundated wasn't really the appropriate term - but still 3 encounters in 3 weeks with a term that I've probably used 3 times in the previous 3 years - interesting....very interesting.
