Am I a Music Loser?

I was just listening to some great mixed CD's prepared for me by two kick-ass people. To make a long story short, nearly all the music contained thereon was unfamiliar to me, which is good - the purpose of the mixed CD is to broaden musical taste, but I fear that I'm not really actively looking for good music outside of mainstream 'poppy' shit.

I had a conversation Friday night with someone who was talking about how one of the things that he doesn't like about Pittsburgh, is that the local music scene is sub-par - I shook my head agreeably - but I have no idea what's going on outside of the iTunes Top Ten list. So my September Resolution is to get educated about local and underground music, oh yeah, and to continue my legal education....priorities, priorities.
