Productive and Enjoyable Day

It's rare that I have both a productive and enjoyable day - the two generally compete in a zero sum game. But today was a happy balance. I got a lot of reading done - 60% for the week and then retired to my friend Throck's humble abode and viewed a movie with a curiously attractive actor who could be mistaken for an individual stricken with downs syndrome.

Happy days all around - and I had my first experience with a Pittsburgh taxicab - I'm generally hesitant to use taxi's in cities that can support enough of them to have them available for 'hailing' on the street, but hey - I was in friendship, car-less and tired - what were my options. And it worked out well - I'm totally still alive - no robbery, rape or extortion - win/win.

The only down side to the day was that my favorite Pittsburgh person kept himself holed up in Brookline - C'est la vie - everybody needs some downtime once and a while.

Shucks, pal. Thanks. You're my favorite Pittsburgh person as well. Not counting Dana. And Emily, of course...
