Wow - that goddamn shoe and the fucking other foot

So about 2-3 weeks ago Emily & I (among others) participated in a healthy back and forth of 'degrading sexual terms' and their respective inherent meanings and offenses.....I largely took the position that people needed to grow a thicker skin and stop being so sensitive.

So, today in the context of a conversation regarding helping out a friend prepare for an academic exercise, the 'friend' commented that he needed a 'man' in addition to the women who had already agreed to assist him. Accordingly he indicated that neither Emily nor I would be able to help him out. Alright - so fuck that. Gay men still have penis's and being gay doesn't make anyone less of a man. It is that kind stupid bullshit thought process & attitude which reinforces homophobia and outdated stereotypes.....whatever - I'm definitely being too sensitive....but whatever - it pissed me off, especially because this utterance was from one of the guys that I considered to be in the miniscule minority of straight men who are largely comfortable with gay people and supportive of gay rights n a real sense and not in that surface PC sense.

Christ - I'm being such a baby......time for a glass of wine and some slumber.
