Alan Greenspan

I saw a headline today that Alan Greenspan predicts housing bust.

This guy seriously needs to go, while disciplined and principled during the Clinton years, he's turned into a partisan douche under Bush - yeah those tax cuts were a great idea - sure huge deficits and seven trillion dollars in national debt is great for the long-term health of the economy. Yet people still afford him 'wise sage' status, which to me is baffling. He hasn't said anything 'new' for years. It seems to be the case that some really smart economists (Long Live Paul Krugman) will start talking about trends in the economy and what is likely to happen next.....then after enough really smart economists get on board, Greenspan proclaims that it shall be so. His statement on the housing boom was something to the effect of "surging housing prices cannot be sustained" - Thanks, that's great, terribly informative - and nothing that any college freshman hasn't learned in the Intro to Econ class.

Peace Greenspan - you're a loser - you should have gone out on top, like the girls from Sex and the City.
