Grand Coalition (Mistake)

Hey Germany....what's up - who the hell is voting for a party with "Christian" in the name anyway....Thankfully Merkel will have to mitigate her agenda to avoid Bundestag gridlock - but she's been Chancellor for a week and it looks like she's taking Germany's foreign policy a touch to the right - Perhaps her Christian Party has a crush on Bush's Christian Ass.

In the Post today it was noted that she wants "Closer U.S. Ties" and she's going for the let bygones be bygones dance. I'm thinking that it's not quite time for that yet - Germany opposed the war in Iraq - and it wasn't just Schroeder - it was the people of Germany - and now Merkel is all over Bush's ass, let's help out, but we're not gonna send troops - She's also distancing herself from the Schoeder/Chirac Franco-German Alliance (Big mistake in my humble opinion), among other things.....I'll bet that she has a little bit of a Thatcher fetish.

Whatever - let her run with the Bush crowd for a couple months - until it breaks that some German-trained Iraqi police officer tortured someone at the behest of the U.S. - and watch that public opinion fall......Hello no confidence vote - and before you know it Welcome Back Social Dems!
