Another Amtrak Experience

I took the train to Harrisburg today so that I could get my car. This particular trip wasn't as bad as the last time, though there were a few points of contention that I wish to discuss.

First of all, I called for a cab this morning - he was on-time which was great - but the entire cab smelled like urine - NOT cool. And the cabbie was a 'talker' which is fine with me, when it isn't 6:30 in the morning - at 6:30 I can barely remember my name let alone carry on a conversation grounded in small-talk.

Whatever - I did get a lot of reading done on the train, but there was this guy sitting across the aisle from me who was a total freak. First of all - about 5 minutes into the trip, he took his shoes and socks off - Ewww - this is Amtrak, these carriages haven't been cleaned this quarter - seriously foul. Then he began, I'm not kidding, to clip his fingernails & toenails on the train - without a care that his skanky nail clippings were littering the floor & aisle - what a dick. And lastly he got up to use the bathroom on the train - barefoot - and didn't close the door all the way!! Where the fuck are people like that socialized????

But, I have my car now which is nice - today was perfect 'window down, music up' weather - and surprisingly - I was fine driving 3 1/2 hours back to Pittsburgh w/o smoking.
